These days, whenever someone mentions about their handphones, it's either the overrated iPhones or the Blackberry. It kinda annoys me that everyone seems to have an iPhone. Seriously. If I wanted a phone, it's gonna be the the Garmin-Asus nüvifone G60.
Everyone knows that Garmin is the awesomest company that produces the well known GPS system and Asus is also the awesomest company that produces really tough laptops, among other things like desktops, etc. Combine these two companies and you get a collaboration so wonderful, out comes the Garmin-Asus G60 & M20.

Anyway, this is gonna be an honest and simple post. My current Motorola Razr phone is so old, even Fred Flintstone won't want it. I can't surf the net on it and obviously I can't use it as a GPS system, unlike the G60.

The nuvifone G60. Let's start with the basic specs, shall we?

The G60 sports a 3.5-inch screen (huge, I like.), has a 2.5mm jack for headphones, WLAN (so that I can use it at home without switching the computer on (LIKE!) and other stuff. Fun part is that it's touchscreen! Yeah alot of phones are already touchscreen but most of have have slow responses to your touch. I wonder how this phone is like. :D
Comparing this phone to my old phone, obviously the G60 is the winner. Why?

My old phone has no internet, no wifi, no gprs. REALLY SAD. I can't do anything online. BUT..

The G60's huge screen, WLAN & GPRS capabilities allow me to! See can surf Nuffnang.com.sg one ok. :P Can type easily too with the QWERTY keyboard. Can you imagine typing using the conventional keypad? By tomorrow also haven't finish.
Oh, I can also tweet on the go. I'm an avid tweet-er/plurk-er so I must check my microblogging platforms like all the time.

Hehehe tweeting on the go rocks.
Other than that, the usual phone calling and smsing applies to this phone as well.
The main reason why I want this phone is because of the navigation system. Most phones use 3rd party navigation systems but the G60 doesn't. And, having family members and friends who are drivers, this navigation system would really help them if they ever get lost or just want to find directions. I'll talk more about this later.
Speaking of getting lost, I'm someone who have no sense of directions and I NEED maps to help me find a place. I usually use google maps to find places before I go there but with the nuvifone G60, I wouldn't have to!
There was once I forgot my way to a certain place and I was walking round and round trying to find the place..

Half an hour later and I'm still lost.

And I couldn't really use my phone to find directions. Yes I could call someone but I don't know anyone who was living around that area I had to go to. Haha.
But with the help of the voice prompted & turn-by-turn directions of the G60, I could have gotten directions and arrived at the place earlier. :D
Just like that one time where my friend sent me home in his car. He's an East Sider, so he didn't know the West area well. I think he took close to 2 hours to find the right path to my house. LOL it was so funny. We reached some ulu road and had to make a big turn. Hahaha this wouldn't happen if I had a nuvifone G60 then!

My daddy's a taxi driver and even though he's been driving for most of his life, there are days where he forgot the directions to certain places. This phone can also be useful for him! Hehe.
The next coolest thing I like about thee Garmin Asus nuvifone G60 is the Where Am I and the Geo Tagged SMS function.
Where Am I allows me to locate my current location and I can find the nearest Hospital, Police Station and Petrol Kiosk in the vicinity.

For Geo Tagged SMS, if I want my friend to locate me, I can just send a Geo-Tagged SMS to him/her. A Geo-Tagged SMS has the Longitude/Latitude information and with the nuvifone G60, I'm on the way to meet him/her with just a click.
The SMS will tell my friend the location and a link to locate it on Google Maps so that he or she can see and find me easily. Is that cool or what?!!
If my friend has a Garmin Asus phone too, there's this application called Ciao!. It's a built in software that allows you to find your friend who is using Garmin-Asus smartphone. You can then easily navigate to the location.
